Guided Learning:
Begin by introducing students to their next phase of education, and helping students find which high school they will enter next year. Allow time in class for students to conduct internet research and find names of school officials they can contact for more information. Students should be familiar with creating tables in Microsoft Word, so focus should shift to expectations of clean and professional table design.
Independent Practice:
Students will research and choose 3 high schools of choice in Microsoft Word. They should be given ample class time to complete the research.
Students will present their research to the class and reflect on their high school expectations, fears, and goals. Class discussion should focus on how their choices in high school will connect to their future careers.
